Soft Skills Assessment

Soft Skills.  What exactly does this mean and how do we teach it?  The term soft skills refers to competencies displayed through communication and behavior.  Empathy, flexibility, critical-thinking, leadership, and ability to work under pressure are examples of soft skills which can transfer from a student’s academic life to their careers.  Regardless of the field or industry, an individual’s success in life beyond college can be determined by soft skills acumen.  Where do opportunities exist for students to practice these concepts and how can assessment for them take place?
