The Group Presentation Gets a Makeover

The Group Presentation Gets a Makeover

Have you ever been assigned a group project as part of a college course and said, “Fantastic!  I love group projects and can’t wait to get started,”?  Or, were your thoughts more along the lines of, “Great.  Now I can do a boat-load of work and watch 3 of my classmates take credit for it…”?  YouSeeU’s newly revamped Group Project activity takes the pain out of any team project through its framework for project planning and multiple options for  submitting a final virtual presentation.  The “Milestones” feature enables members to assign tasks to themselves or each other, and then track efforts towards a completed presentation and/or paper.  Instructors can monitor these activities and provide feedback to the group at any given point so “hiding” or dodging work will not go unnoticed.  Students can now meet synchronously, via video, to casually chat about who’s doing what, or more formally each take a turn in one recorded session presenting their piece of the collective project.  In addition, at the educator’s discretion, Group Project allows students to rate each other on a 5-star scale and provide supporting comments regarding their teammmates’ individual contributions, so it’s really in the best interest of everyone to give 100%. Want to learn more about how it works for students?  Check out YouSeeU’s Group Project tutorial here.
