30 Aug Career Readiness & YouSeeU
At YouSeeU, we’ve talked a lot about “soft skills” development and assessment. We’re not the only ones discussing the importance of these abilities as they’re transferred from a student’s college experience to their career (nor do we disagree with those who opine that the term “soft skills” undervalues their significance). The National Association of Colleges and Employers has published a definition of career readiness and list of related competencies that speak to the validity of teaching, developing, and accessing these critical abilities. Regardless of the student’s major or program, YouSeeU’s platform for video-based assignments is an environment where they will have opportunities to mature to career readiness within a dynamic framework of practice, review and coaching. Specifically, the Group Project activity is an experiential exercise encompassing every point on the competency list referenced above.
