02 Nov YouSeeU Supports Students in their Pursuit of a PhD
Written by Rebecca Hardin, Doctoral Candidate in I/O Psychology, University of Phoenix
In my online doctoral course, Consulting and Business Skills, we utilized YouSeeU technology to conduct virtual asynchronous video presentations. The technology allowed us to sync up our powerpoint slide presentations with our recorded video presentations to enhance the impact of the experience. We utilized the technology to answer weekly discussion questions and to conduct mock business presentations. The experience provided excellent learning and peer review opportunities as we practiced our consulting skills in alignment with the course objectives. We were able to see how our body language, tone, and content of our slide presentations made an impact on our audience and receive feedback on how to enhance the delivery of our message given the intent of each assignment. YouSeeU was not only a vital component of the online class experience but as the work environment becomes more global and virtual, YouSeeU could also become a complementary technology for global organizations, virtual teams, online consultations, and online volunteering scenarios.
